Businesses, Community Fired Up for Second 5K Run for St. Michael Teacher Tim Larson
Friends, family and community members will celebrate the life of Tim Larson with a 5K run in his honor on Sept. 29. Larson, a Middle School West teacher, was tragically killed in October of last year.
Less than a month after his murderer was sentenced to 30 years in prison, the community is going to rally again for the family of Timothy Larson at the end of September.
The race to honor the man who loved to run-Timothy Larson-will be coming up September 29. Larson, a Middle School West teacher who was tragically killed last October, ran 15 marathons during his life, and the community is encouraged to participate in the Fire Up 5K run to benefit the Tim Larson Memorial Fund.
Local businesses are lining up to support the event. The Nike Store in the Albertville Premium Outlets will be assisting with registration. Energy Zone, which is a new Albertville nutritional outlet, will be serving up shakes for runners, and D's Family Pizza will also be on hand with food.
Health Source Chiropractic, Country Inn and Suites and Great Lakes Chiropractic are also lending their support from the STMA business community.
Registration for the race is now open. The cost is $20 and should be mailed before Sept. 22 to:
Run for Tim c/o Blair Kelly
7431 Large Ave. NE
Otsego, MN 55301
Checks can be made to the Tim Larson Memorial Fund.
Participants whose registrations are sent by Sept. 22 will receive a t-shirt. Race day registration is $25 and t-shirts will be available on a first-come, first serve basis. Registration on race day begins at 8 a.m., with the race at 9 a.m. beginning behind Middle School West.
The race organizers are also currently accepting items for the silent auction as well. To donate, contact Blair Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
