The Albertville Fire Department, in conjuncton with the City of Albertville and State of Minnesota, will conduct a controlled burn in the city Saturday morning.

The department will be burning dried vegetation in the wetland area near Westwind Park, off of 58th Street Northeast in Albertville, west of Wright County Highway 19.

The department conducts the burns to renew vegetation in these areas naturally, and to train for the real thing.

This spring's early arrival and dry conditions over much of the winter caused one grass fire in St. Michael last month, and the Albertville department has conducted one previous controlled burn this season.

Residents are asked to take caution in these areas, but should not be alarmed.
