Bachmann Beat: The 'Perfect Candidate' and Her 'Series of Humiliations'
An aggregated weekly roundup of news and commentary about U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann.
Sixth-district congresswoman Michele Bachmann called herself the “perfect candidate” president in a Bloomberg TV interview.
“America had their chance with the perfect candidate,” she said. “But any of our candidates are going to be acceptable to the American people, and more than acceptable, because right now, if you look at the Gallup map that came out this week, President Obama is in big trouble all across the country.”
But being perfect doesn’t necessarily mean life will be easy, and at the CPAC conference, an annual D.C. gathering of Republican activists, she made light of her campaign’s challenges, including her conflation of John Wayne with serial killer John Wayne Gacy.
"I thought you would be interested in knowing that running for president of the United States is really one series of humiliations after another," she said at CPAC.
Bachmann also criticized a federal court’s finding that Proposition 8, California’s gay marriage ban, was unconstitutional.
The ruling “undermine[d] the will of the people,” Bachmann said.
After radio provocateur Howard Stern called Bachmann “the worst person in the world,” she responded with an email to her supporters.
“While Stern can say anything he wants on satellite radio,” she wrote, “his words have an impact on his millions of listeners as well as the people his listeners talk to, which is why I need your help to counteract with our positive message.”

It's just like trying to drive past a car crash and not look, nobody is surprised you took another shot a Bachmann, and that you agree with Howard Stern..... Now there's a classy person to align yourself with.
