BREAKING: St. Michael-Albertville Boys' Section Basketball Game vs. Buffalo Postponed
The Knights' game at Buffalo High School has been postponed to Wednesday night.
It looks like the third meeting between Buffalo High School and St. Michael-Albertville will have to wait one more night.
The Section 8-4A tilt, the opening round of the tournament for both co-champions of the Missississippi 8 Conference, has been postponed due to Winter Storm Saturn, which closed both school districts down today.
The game is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow night at the Buffalo High School gym. It will be webcast on KRWC.com
The Knights, at 17-9, are the No. 5 seed in the district. Buffalo, at 19-7, is the No. 4 seed. The winner will, most likely, take on 25-1 Brainerd in the Section 8-4A semis, which are set for this weekend at St. Cloud State. Brainerd battles Bemidji in the opening round.
Here's the statement from the Section 8-4A secretary, Dan Harris:
Because of the snow storm, numerous schools closing down for the day and expected high winds this afternoon, the Region 8AA Chairman, Aaron Sinclair, and I have made the decision to pull the plug on today’s boys Section 5AAA – 8AAA – 8AAAA basketball quarter-final games.
All games will be played on Wednesday evening at the same time and site. Please notify your media people of the change.
