Buffalo Hospital Offers Free Health Screenings

The free program continues with services for three years.

A new program to stay healthy has arrived at Buffalo Hospital.

Free health screenings will be offered Dec. 11 and they include body mass index (BMI) testing, blood pressure and pulse reading, blood sugar and cholesterol level checks, along with coaching and follow-ups.

The health screenings won't be a one-time deal — the program offers free annual health screenings for three years.

The initial screening will take place Tuesday, Dec. 11 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the MOB conference rooms at the hospital, located at 303 Catlin Street in Buffalo.

Along with the screenings, participants can get online health risk assesment and coaching, as well as coaching and follow-up with a wellness specialist.

Anyone age 18 and older can register, and the entire program, including follow-ups, is free.

To register, or for more information, call Brenda Christensen at 763-684-7025.

The program is through the Healthy Communities Partnership, sponsored by the Penny George Institute for Healthy and Healing by the George Family Foundation. The goal is to work with communities to get healthy, and stay healthy.
