COSTA CONCORDIA: More Bodies Found Aboard Ship

Recovery workers returned to the wreckage and were able to recover eight of the missing bodies from the ill-fated cruise ship. It's not known if a St. Michael teacher's parents were among those found.

After a couple of quiet weeks, there have been some new developments this week around the shipwreck of the Costa Concordia cruise ship, still lying on its side where it ran aground on the Tuscan shore of Italy.

A day after a memorial service was held for Gerald and Barbara Heil, parents of Big Woods teacher Aaron Heil, a Spanish passenger Monday submitted photos of fellow vacationers as they waited to escape the ship back on Friday, Jan. 13. In more than one of those photos, Jerry Heil, wearing a tan, newsboy cap, can be seen standing next to Barbara. Both were wearing life jackets and were among a huge crowd of people looking for a way to disembark.

Today (Wednesday), Italian officials announced they were able to recover  more bodies from the wreckage, including the only child missing, a 5-year-old girl. In all seven passengers were found, and the other seven will have to be identified, the BBC reported. The Associated Press is reporting only four have been found.

The passengers were found near an area called Bridge 4.

The Italian Coast Guard and firefighters and rescue workers from the port of Giglio had called off the search back on Tuesday, Jan. 31. However, the recent find shows crews are still searching accessible parts of the cruise liner.

The ship, carrying 4,200 passengers and crew, had its hull ripped open when it ran aground during a salute to a former captain conducted on the evening of Friday the 13th.
