Traffic was backed up into the Albertville Premium Outlets parking areas after an evening commute crash snarled traffic on Wright County Road 19 just south of the shopping center Wednesday.
At least two vehicles were involved, including a four-door sedan which had severe damage to the driver's side, as the cars collided in the middle of the new Interstate 94 intersection in Albertville.
Emergency vehicles were on scene around 5:20 p.m.
The other damaged vehicle was a black sport-utility vehicle (SUV). It had suffered front end damage. Witnesses said no one from that vehicle appeared to have been hurt.
One person was removed from the vehicle and placed in a waiting ambulance, witnesses said.
A North Memorial helicopter was later on the scene as well.
Wright County Sheriff's Deputies, Albertville Fire and Allina Ambulance were all on scene at the accident.

I would really like to see our county's finest start targeting people running these lights. It's a total joke, especially when it's snowing, people behave like red lights just don't matter. The worst intersection I've seen for red light infractions? The westbound 202 exit to CR37 by Krumbees. Every time I exit there, especially during morning rush hour, I sit there and make sure everyone's stopped, which of course ticks off people behind me, at least until they see some ignoramous sail through the light well after it turning red.
I'd also love to see people pulling out right in front of others start getting citations, but first things first, running red lights kills people. Start citing them and word will get out.
