You know it's a great day on the golf course if there aren't any carts left.

The fourth annual Matt Spaeth Charity Golf Tournament was a huge hit, welcoming more than 60 teams of golfers on a picture perfect day for golf.

"You couldn't ask for much better, considering the summer Minnesota's had so far," Spaeth, the former St. Michael-Albertville sports standout and current Pittsburgh Steeler tight end, said.

Spaeth hosts the tournament each year to raise money for St. Michael-Albertville football, the St. Michael-Albertville High School scholarship fund and for the Hanover Food Shelf.

The big man welcomed a host of family members, friends from his days at the University of Minnesota, and some well-known community members.

Featured foursomes included Greg Eslinger, Kevin Slamen, Jeohn Shevlin and Mike Sherels, as well as former coach Glen Mason with Ken Spaeth, Dan Wagner and family friend Colby Berslie.

Spaeth and his family will present a check to the Hanover Food Shelf in the coming weeks.

"Just a great turnout," Spaeth said, and hopefully it's a great day."
