Halloween Safety Tips for St. Michael-Albertville
Keep your kids and yourself safe this Halloween.
Halloween night is approaching and keeping people safe is always a concern and a priority. I checked in with Wright County Lieutenant Todd Hoffman for some of his top safety tips, here's what he had to say:
Costumes
- Do make sure kids are wearing bright, flame retardant costumes. If that is not possible, put some reflective tape on their costume or treat bag.

- Do make a familiar route ahead of time in a familiar neighborhood.
- Young kids (12 and under) should be accompanied by an adult who walks with them and walks them to the door.
- Do not enter homes.
- Do not accept home made or unwrapped treats.
- Do not approach vehicles.
- Do not go to homes with no lights on.
Drivers
- Be cognizent on Halloween afternoon and evening of kids in the neighborhood.
- Do not drive along side your kids while they trick or treat, this creates a traffic issue.
