On a picture perfect November morning, hundreds of St. Michael-Albertville runners and walkers gathered to remember fallen STMA Middle School West teacher Timothy Larson.

"Some of you knew Tim, and some of you did not. But the fact that all of you are here speaks volumes to the impact this had on the community," said Fire Up! 5K organizer Blair Kelley in an emotional sendoff for participants. "The support we've seen from this community is just unbelievable.

For the record, my time was 29:08 - ish. And it was an honor to run today.

What a morning. Can honestly say we had never met Tim or his family, but it was an honor to run with so many people out running/walking to show their support. We live in an awesome community.

I was at the run and the dinner and found both to be emotional events. It is an honor to live in a community that can come together for such an important reason. We live by wonderful people!

It was truly amazing to see the amount of support within our community. I also did not know Tim, but I certainly feel cheated out of that opportunity. It was wonderful to see all of the support, but I have to say I was truly amazed by my 5 year old daugther, who ran the entire 5K in 32 minutes who chanted as she started to want to give up, "I'm running for the teacher, I'm running for the teacher...."
