Out of curiosity, how many pizza places do we have in St. Michael and Albertville combined? And how does this stack up against other communities? It seems to me we really like our pizza around here. ;-)

Wish we would get a nice coffee shop or something like that. Caribou in Albertville is nice, but we could do with another one too.

What would be great is a Dunn Brothers in the old Thrifty White spot. Excellent meeting place, big enough, great coffee and atmosphere...Bring it!

I think the pizza clash is on over kill now with little ceasars moving in!!! Aaaugh!! If you know anybody with the financial ability....open a Panera!!! Preferably in Albertville because of mall traffic.

Chipotle.... that is what is needed.... : )

Would love to see a well established chain such as Noodles or Panera that would offer more variety and healthier options.

I find this article miss leading. Pizza Hut is not in the old bakery area. It is in the old library in the Colonial Mall. The way the article reads "small pizzas to go" makes a person think it is a Pizza Hut similar to those in Target. Which is not true. It is a full carrier out or deliver location. They also have their line of "Wings and Things". I wish them success! I agree with bring on the Panera!!!!!

Chipotle, Panera, Noodles - any one of those would be great to have in the neighborhood. Enough with the Pizza.

Pizza and Prescriptions....enough! SM needs someplace nice to sit down and eat. Albertville already has D.Michael B's and Perkins. SM needs a Caribou--and a Chipotle, and maybe a TGIFridays !

I would love it if St. Michael would add a Noodles and a coffee place with a drive through for the early mornings...Yummy!! As far as a nice sit down place my family has been going to the St. Michael Legion-Liberty Restaurant and Bar. We've had some really good meals there. We've been going alot on Tuesday nights for the kids/Bingo night. My daughter loves the Bingo and my husband and I like the half price kids meals. Also have had good experiences with the Sunday brunch. There is so much food, and it's reasonably priced as far as bunches go. While I think there are some kinks still working out as they learn the ropes, we've all in all had great experiences and will keep going back when we want to go out for a nice family meal.

When the new Thrifty White was built, and the old Main St was torn down we were promised a new cafe (am I the only one who remembers the St. Michael Cafe?!) As part of the city building outline they promoted a cafe - only to be quickly filled by an eyeglass store that still currently sits there today after it had been built.
I think a cafe would be a great addition to the St. Michael community and hope that the city finally lives up to their promise.

I counted 18 places you can get pizza from/delivered to you in the STMA area. But when you serve the best it doesn't matter how many there are.

Birdie, I remember the Cafe very well and I was from a far away place, Brooklyn Center. As a child, we used to take frequent trips out to the country to visit my Dad's cousin (Chester Kottke) and to fish on the Crow River from Harold & Edna Hackenmuller's yard by the old mill in Hanover. I enjoyed many a Sunday dinner at the St. Michael Cafe, it was wonderful home cooking; what a treat. I've lived in STM for a long time now, because I love it. I fear we are loosing the wonderful charm that makes STM a special place to live. I would love to have a local Cafe to take my grandchildren too. I do wish someone would listen, enough drug stores, and pizza places. Let's try to keep STM a place people want to stay at for dinner and shopping, not leave from and take $$ out of the area. Enough of the chains. I would like to see another cafe in St Michael like the city promised was going back in after the destruction of the downtown. Did the City mislead us again? Gee, hard to believe. My guess is with a city full of people who only want the chains ( Chipotle, Dunn Bros etc ) it would be hard for an old fashion cafe with good prices and great food to stay in business . If you want the chains you can move back to Maple Grove!

This place was great when it first opened. But now the quality of food has gone down. Me and my family got a pizza a few weeks ago and the crust had fallen apart. Also i have heard some bad stories from previous workers that say if you want food poisoning go ahead and eat there. I wouldn't recommend eating there at all.
