Police Create Perimeter, Catch Theft Suspect in Albertville Thursday Morning
A suspect in the theft of a truck and trailer was found.
Several blocks and business parking lots were splattered with police squad cars in Albertville this morning in a perimeter and search of a suspect in the alleged theft of a truck and trailer.
The suspect was found around 9:15 a.m. His has not been released.
"I imagine people who live around there saw a lot of commotion," a Wright County Sheriff's Office dispatcher told St. Michael Patch.
The Wright County Sheriff's Office and the Hennepin County Sherriff's Office K9 Search Unit surrounded the area near 57th Street Northeast and Kalland Avenue Northeast. Police recieved a report that the stolen truck and trailer was abandoned in that area.
The truck was found in Medina, but deputies created a perimeter in search of the suspect.
The suspect was arrested around 9:15 a.m. and taken to Wright County Jail.
The dispatcher said although the area was mostly occupied by businesses, residents were safe during the search of the suspect.
"If people in the area were in danger, we would have sent out a telephone note," the dispatcher explained. "But this was in the business area of Albertville."

Well that doesn't make any sense at all. The truck was abandoned in Medina, but was reported abandoned in Albertville and a suspect was located and arrested in Albertville. How did he get from Medina to Albertville? Why was the truck thought to be abandoned in Albertville, if it was actually in Medina? If the truck was in Medina, is the guy they arrested even associated with the crime?

Just a thought ....it is probably a typo on either end. It makes more sense that the truck was stolen from Medina and recovered in Albertville.

They had the K9 unit going thru the neighborhood door to door. They were checking sheds and open garages. So it wasn't just in the business area.

OK, not to be picky but... "If people in the area were in danger, we would have sent out a telephone note," the dispatcher explained. "But this was in the business area of Albertville." So the people in the businesses don't have to be notified? And that area of Albertville does have dwellings.

There seems to be a lot of confusion. Seems that there were searches going on over in the residential area behind Casey's, and there was also a very large police presence at the body shop across from City Hall. It will be interesting to see how things unfold over the next few days....
