Spotlight on Crime announced Monday that a reward of up to $100,000 will be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for the shooting death of Cold Spring Police Officer Tom Decker.

Spotlight on Crime is a non-profit organization fund that offers cash rewards to help solve violent crimes.

Decker, 31, was shot and killed Nov. 29 while on-duty, doing a welfare check at a Cold Spring apartment near Winner's Bar. He died at the scene.

The intial suspect was released from custody after investigators discovered he was "not even close" to having connection with the murder.

Investigators also have not found the 20-gauge shotgun beleived to be the murder weapon.

"Investigators hope the reward encourages someone to come forward with information," a Spotlight on Crime statement read. "Investigators are also urging Minnesotans, particularly residents who live in the Cold Spring area of Stearns County, to walk their properties in search of a 20-gauge shotgun."

Police officers from all around the country, including Wright County Sheriff's deputies, attended Decker's December funeral.
