Don't let the school bus in the neighborhood alarm you this morning. It's not the first day of school but it is WEB day for St. Michael-Albertville 5th graders.

WEB [Where Everyone Belongs] is a day devoted to having the 5th grade students come in and get acclimated to middle school life. Over 100 St. Michael-Albertville 8th graders spent Monday and Tuesday training and preparing to help guide their newest friends around the middle schools today.

Forty-eight Middle School West 8th graders and 56 Middle School East 8th graders played games, practiced tours and reached out to the new students this week.

Today, 5th graders will board their school bus and head to school where their WEB leaders will lead them through a day of both learning and fun.

"Not only do the 5th graders get to learn where everything is before Open House night but they also now have people they'll know, 8th graders who will say hi in the hallway," Middle School East social worker Jessica Buskey said Tuesday.
