The STMA Wrestling Youth Wrestling Program rolled out the mats for the 2012 season Thursday with some local action.

St. Michael-Albertville's program has more than 170 kids actively participating, which makes it one of the largest in the state.

Students in grades kindergarten through second grade get the chance to practice in the high school wrestling room. Those in grades three through six practice at Middle School West.

Kids participate in weekly practices, an end of the season tournament and open and team tournaments during the season.

The second season is open for all kindergarten through sixth grade kids. Those interested can still contact Tim Mlsna (tim.mlsna@charter.net) for more information.

My son is in the program and loves it! I give so much credit to the men and women running the program and all of the volunteer coaches who do such a good job making it fun and educational!
