Wright County Seeks Additional Families for Foster Children

Emergency shelter needs are high, and the county is seeking local help.

Wright County is fortunate to have over 40 family child foster care homes.  These foster families open their homes to children who are struggling through difficult circumstances. Foster parents offer children the gifts of their time, encouragement, listening ears, and heart-felt compassion.

Children involved with the foster care system come from all walks of life and are working through a variety of different life challenges. Foster children need many things from their foster families, but most of all they need acceptance and patience; patience to see beyond the first impression or beyond a challenging behavior.  As a foster parent, you could offer the support a child needs.

Those who have thought about becoming a foster parent should contact the county now. Wright County Human Services is in need of additional child foster care homes. There is an especially high need for families willing to provide Emergency Shelter Care. Emergency shelter homes are available to take placement of children after business hours and on weekends.
