Your Best Bets for Halloween Night in St. Michael

From the weather forecast to a couple of 'indoor' options, here's a guide to Halloween in STMA.

While every neighborhood has their winners and, well, losers for Halloween night, here's a couple of tips for families heading out for a bit of trick or treating today.

Weather forecast:
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 30 percent chance of rain during prime trick-or-treating hours. In other words, toss the umbrella in the wagon or stroller if you've got little ones.
Temperatures should be anywhere between 42 and 48 degrees, so it will be a bit warmer than it was earlier this week thanks to the cloud cover.

When does it get dark?
Again, according to the weather guys, the sun should go down around 6 p.m., and with it past the fall equinox, it will get dark soon after. Primetime should be around 6:30 p.m.

What are we going to do if it rains?
If the skies open and it's too much to for that aforementioned umbrella, here are a couple of ideas

-Treats, not tricks, at the “Outlet Mall”
Trick or treating is back at the Albertville Premium Outlets, and most stores will be participating Halloween night if you want to keep everyone in one somewhat sheltered, well-lighted area for the evening. If rain’s in the forecast, that awning comes in handy.

-FYCC Halloween Celebration
The FYCC Halloween Party is from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the St. Michael City Center. Cost is $5 for games, candy and costume contests. Costumes are optional .. but, come on! It’s Halloween!
