Frugal Finds: The Albertville Farmers' Market Kicks Off Thursday

Local growers and crafters will bring their wares to the Lions Shelter in Central Park starting Thursday, leading off this week's assortment of deals.

Patch scouted out all the best local deals for St. Michael-Albertville this week. Check out some free and inexpensive options for the frugally minded!

  1. Fresh Food: The Albertville Farmers Market opens this week. Every Thursday afternoon from 3 to 7  p.m. from tomorrow until Sept. 30. Take advantage of the fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies and more for better than your local grocer prices! Brought to you by the Albertville Lions.
  2. Free Books: FYCC sponsors Reading in the Parks this summer. Each child who attends gets a free book. Kicks off this week! Mondays at 6pm at Albertville Lions Shelter, Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Rec Center, Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. at Albertville Central Park and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. at Hanover Settlers Park.
  3. Free Crafts: FYCC sponsors different arts and crafts activitis in the park this summer. Kicks off this week. Mondays at 9am at Swamp Lake Park (4 years and under please), Mondays at 6:15pm at Albertville Lions Shelter (5 years and up), Tuesdays at 10am at St. Michael Rec Center (5 years and up) and Wednesdays at 10am at Albertville Central Park (5 years and up).
  4. Meat: Dehmers Meats is offering an exclusive Patch deal for Patch readers to get their grills ready. Mention Patch to receive a discount of $1 off 5 pound bags of old fashioned wieners and 10 pound bag of bulk ground beef.
  5. Pizza: Who doesn’t love a night off from the kitchen on your way out the door to baseball or soccer or whatever you’ve got going on? D’s Family Pizza is celebrating its grand opening through June 18 with buy one pizza, get the second half off as well as daily deals. They are also hosting a BBQ on Saturday, June 18 from 1-4 p.m. for $5/person.
