Heavy Rain, Severe Weather Likely Tonight in St. Michael Area

A huge storm front is making its way out of the Dakotas into Central Minnesota, prompting a severe thunderstorm watch for the area.

The National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for St. Michael this evening, as a line of storms moving through Minnesota should hit the area late tonight or early Wednesday morning.

The watch expires at 6 a.m. Wednesday, but storms are possible again Wednesday night. 

According to radar, the storm front had reached the St. Cloud and Wilmar areas and was headed east.
