Holiday Happenings Roll Out in St. Michael-Albertville

With the official start to the holidays in the rearview mirror, local events continue throughout the weeks to come. Feel free to add your own!

Santa and his special “helpers” will begin making appearances around St. Michael and Albertville this weekend, as we roll out our guide to a slew of upcoming holiday events. Feel free to add yours here, or on our events calendar, which Patch will be updating until the New Year.

Bake Sale: Pre-order your holiday goodies through the MOMS Club St. Michael West Holiday Bake Sale. Make your holiday season easier while supporting a great cause. All proceeds will go directly toward the club’s Adopt-a-Family Service Project. Items include spritz cookies, carrot bars, red velvet cookies, Oreo truffles, blossoms or chocolate chip cookies. Gluten free spritz and flourless chocolate cookies with pecans are also available. Submit orders by Dec. 1 to Marni at marnisack@yahoo.com.

SATURDAY, DEC 3

Holiday Boutique: Join Santa Claus and friends from from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Santa will visit from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shops and stands will be open in the school gymnasium and cafeteria, with more than 40 vendors participating. Plus, there will be breakfast items and even concessions for lunch.

Pics with Santa at Legacy: Santa will be making another appearance at the Christmas Boutique at set for 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Enjoy a morning of shopping, refreshments and pictures with that jolly old elf himself. This event is, of course, open to the public. Funds benefit programs at the Legacy and more.

Children’s Shopping Mall: Let your children experience the gift of giving! The Girl Scout Families have put together inexpensive gifts that children can purchase. All gifts are priced between 25 cents and $5. This event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West.

Santa at the Fire Department: The and the Fire Explorers program will welcome Santa Claus to the fire hall from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. People are asked to bring a food donation for the Hanover Food Shelf, or an unwrapped toy for Caring for Kids. The trucks will be on display and photo opportunities with the big guy will be available.

Snowmobiling Trail Opener: Become a member of the St. Michael area Foxtailers Snowmobile Club, or just celebrate the beginning of the season with other riders from around the community. The opening event will be held from 8 to midnight at the /American Legion in St. Michael. Cost is just $10 and includes beer, appetizers and a drawing for more than $500 in free prizes. Donations for the food shelf or Caring for Kids will also be taken.

 

SATURDAY & SUNDAY, DEC. 3-4

Haitian Christmas Boutique: Make a difference in the lives of millions of others by helping more than a half dozen international charities, including Healing Haiti, God’s Children Adoption Agency and 3 Seams. A holiday boutique will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at , 3989 MacIver Avenue NE in St. Michael. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. SUNDAY, DEC. 4

Holiday Breakfast: The Albertville Liions will be hosting their Holiday Pancake Breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at . Breakfast will include all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice, milk and coffee. Cost is $7 per adult and $3 per child.

 

THURSDAY, DEC. 8

Holiday Party: Shop St. Michael Invites members, guests and St. Michael residents to the 2nd annual Holiday Party, set for 4 to 7 p.m. at the . There will be complimentary hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. Come and network with local businesses looking to promote the St. Michael business community.
