STMA Rotary and Shop Saint Michael are now seeking nominations for St. Michael’s “Holiday Cheermeister.” This special person will have the honor of lighting St. Michael’s new holiday tree Nov. 27 at St. Michael City Center.
Nominees for Holiday Cheermeister must be either St. Michael residents, be involved in a St. Michael organization or own or work at a St. Michael
business. Nominees should be actively involved in the St. Michael community, embody the holiday spirit, and exemplify Rotary’s Four-Way Test, which asks: Of the things we think, say or do: 1.Is it the TRUTH?, 2.Is it FAIR to all concerned?, 3.Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4.Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Nomination forms are available at Shop Saint Michael businesses, City Hall, and at www.stmarotary.org. Nominations will be accepted through Oct. 31. The Holiday Cheermeister will be selected by Shop Saint Michael and STMA Rotary and announced in mid-November.
The Holiday Tree Lighting celebration is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. This free event will include caroling by St. Michael-Albertville High School’s Choir, caroling and a sing-a-long led by the Crow River Senior Center Choir, holiday stories read by Friends of the Library and local Rotarians, and a special visit from Santa.
The event will include a toy and children’s book drive for the Hanover Area Food Shelf. Free hot dogs, chili, cookies and cocoa will be served while supplies last.
