Power Outages Still Have Some St. Michael Homes in the Dark

High winds and downed tree branches have left areas in St. Michael and nearby communities like Rogers and Buffalo without power.

Xcel Energy crews are working to restore power to customers in St. Michael, Rogers and Buffalo this morning after a storm ripped through this area around 5 a.m.

High winds have downed several tree branches, but most big trees remained standing. That's a switch from the summer storms that saw saturated ground and high wind combine to topple dozens of trees.

The branches still caused headaches, however, sparking fires at transformers hung on power poles in neighborhoods that do not have undergound lines, such as the Killians Addition in St. Michael.
