St. Michael Resident Receives Service Above Self Award from Rotary

Linda Borchardt received the award from Rotary District 5950.

The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club recently announced Rotarian Linda Borchardt of St. Michael has been recognized with a Service Above Self Award from Rotary District 5950. District 5950 is a group of 60 Rotary Clubs located in Central and Southwestern Minnesota.

“Linda is the glue that binds our club together,” said Aaron Thomas, STMA Rotary President. “She is a positive spirit who loves to volunteer and give back to her community. No matter what Rotary event or project is going on, Linda will be there.”

Borchardt currently serves on the Rotary Club’s Board of Directors as club historian. She coordinates the club’s annual art auction, which brought in $3,000 this year and is the club’s primary fundraiser.  She participates in every club event, including the Holiday Tree Lighting, STRIVE, the pancake breakfast and much more. In the past, she has been club treasurer and has coordinated the Rotary Club’s high school scholarship program, Read Across America and other events.

The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary meets at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays in the Crow River Senior Center at the new St. Michael City Center. Guests and new members are welcome.
