Winds, Rain Blow Through St. Michael, Albertville

Some large trees fell and heavy rain pelted the area, but the heat's back on today.

Heavy rain and high winds roared through St. Michael-Albertville shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday night, setting off sirens in St. Michael and downing some hefty trees in the community.

The latest of summer storms was spawned by a hot, humid day Sunday, with highs near 90 degrees. The front, which spawned tornados in the St. Cloud area, slammed Sauk Centre with plenty of property damage.

St. Michael picked up more than a half-inch of rain from the storm, which lasted just an hour. Wind speeds were clocked near 60 mph.
