Weight Loss Tip #2

Hello Readers! It has been about 2 weeks since the InFIT Weight Loss Challenge began! If you have been consistent, you may have lost a few pounds already! If not, keep faith, there is still time. Every day is a new day. Remember, YOU ARE GOING TO SUCCEED!

Weight Loss Tip #1 is to Believe in Yourself

Regardless of where you are in your journey thus far, keep believing in yourself (or perhaps begin for the first time). Belief is a powerful motivator. If you did not receive this email, let me know and I will email it to you. You can also read it here on the patch: Weight Loss Tip #1

Weight Loss Tip #2 Count Your Produce


I have been thinking about this tip at length. I debated between count your calories and count your produce -- and I decided to keep it simple. Calories are important, but unless you have been educated and practiced, counting calories takes time (counting calories is well worth the effort, but it's not something I can effectively teach you in an email).

Count your servings of produce every day for two weeks.

If you are not consuming AT LEAST 5-7 servings per day total, start increasing your servings RIGHT NOW. Consume at least one fruit and/or vegetable at every meal and snack. If you are consuming 5-7 servings of produce per day, see if you can add one more serving per day. Fruits and vegetables are:

*Packed with vitamins, nutrients, and free-radical fighting agents
*Low in calories- this is vital for weight loss
*High in satiety- you feel satisfied when you consume a wide variety of produce
*Most importantly, fruits and vegetables replace simple carbohydrates like crackers, cookies, cereal, white flour, sugar, candy... etc. If your plate is filled with fruits and vegetables at every meal and snack, you will be eating less of the unhealthy, calorie-packed foods and more of the foods your body NEEDS and CRAVES!!

Eat more fruits and vegetables, even if you do not yet love the flavor. Taste is temporary, your health is a lifelong investment.
