The father and young son seriously injured in Monticello Monday by a wrong-way driver being pursued by police are Travis C. Kolles, 28, and son Layton C. Kolles, 1, of Monticello, according to the St. Cloud Times. They are related to Kolles family members in the St. Michael-Albertville area, family sources told Patch.

The St. Cloud Times reported both Kolleses "were taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. They are both listed in critical condition. [Driver of the fleeing vehicle Kevin P.] Greene was taken to New River Hospital in Monticello with injuries that were not considered life-threatening."

The Wright County Sheriff's Department said Tuesday it has charged Greene with criminal vehicular operation. Those charges could be modified.

The Sheriff's Department states Greene was fleeing after robbing a popular watering hole in nearby Big Lake.

According to the Wright County Sheriff's Department:

After getting a call about the robbery around 5:20 p.m., a Big Lake Police Officer located the Suburban police believed was the "getaway car" near the intersection of Broadway and State Highway 25 in the City of Monticello. An attempt was made to stop the vehicle but it continued eastbound on Broadway without stopping and eventually collided with a 2002 Honda Accord being driven by Kolles, 28, of Monticello, which was southbound on Fenning Avenue Northeast at the intersection of Broadway. Travis Kolles and a passenger, Layton Kolles, age 1, were both transported to North Memorial Hospital by CentraCare Ambulance and North Air Ambulance for injuries received in the crash. Travis and Layton were the only occupants of the Honda.

The driver of the Suburban, Kevin Parnell Greene, 47, of Monticello was booked into the Wright County Jail on the charge of criminal vehicular operation.
