Allina and Buffalo Hospital are teaming up for a pair of events next week to keep people thinking pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Buffalo Hospital Foundation is hosting a free Mammography Party for women who are uninsured or underinsured on Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Buffalo Hospital.
In addition to mammograms, guests will be offered free blood pressure checks, reflexology, seated massages, and treats. Motivational speakers will make presentations at 10 and 11 a.m.
Registration is required. Call 1-888-643-2584 and mention code BM7 to schedule a mammogram.
Buffalo Hospital Foundation is partnering with SAGE to host this event. SAGE is Minnesota Department of Health’s comprehensive breast and cervical cancer screening program.
Virginia Piper Cancer Institute® – Buffalo Hospital invites breast cancer patients and survivors of all ages to an open house celebration Thursday, October 24 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Buffalo Hospital, 303 Catlin Street in Buffalo.
“The Cancer Center staff members want to have a party to help bring hope and joy to people,” said Lorie Stemig, Patient Care Manager of Virginia Piper Cancer Institute - Buffalo Hospital.
Stemig says the open house is an opportunity for cancer survivors to connect with others for ongoing support and for current patients to learn about other community services.
The celebration will feature music, refreshments, a visit by Kathy Honey of Cancergirl, and techniques for healing and relaxation. The event is free and reservations are not required.
