Pancake Breakfast

St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club is hosting a Pancake Breakfast from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at Pubhouse 19, 5651 LaCentre Avenue, Albertville.

The breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, milk, coffee and juice.  Cost is $5 per person.  Proceeds will benefit STMA Rotary Club’s local service projects as well as Rotary International’s PolioPlus effort to immunize all the world’s children against polio.

Since the PolioPlus program's inception in 1985, more than two billion children have received oral polio vaccine. To date, Rotary has contributed more than $1.2 billion and countless volunteer hours to the protection of more than two billion children in 122 countries.

Rotary is also working to raise additional funds—in January 2012, the organization announced that it had raised more than $200 million toward a $355 million challenge grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. These funds help to provide much needed operational support, medical personnel, laboratory equipment and educational materials for health workers and parents. In addition, Rotary’s advocacy efforts have played a role in decisions by donor governments to contribute over $6 billion to the effort.

The St. Michael-Albertville Rotary Club meets at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays in the Crow River Senior Center at the St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive, St. Michael, Minn. Guests are always welcome.  For more information about joining STMA Rotary, visit www.stmarotary.org or e-mail stmarotary@gmail.com.
