Frugal Families: All's Fair in Wright County

The Wright County Fair takes center stage, and much of the entertainment can be had for a song.

You know that old Kermit saying, “It’s not easy being green!” Well it’s not easy being frugal either. That’s why we need YOUR help! When you see a good deal or a great local sale or special. Leave a comment or send it to us so we can share it here. We’ll even give you credit!

Here’s a couple ways to save a few bucks this week:

  1. Coborns Double Coupons Days are back! Saturdays! You can double up to 10 coupons up to $1.00 each coupon meaning you can save up to $20 on groceries you were going to buy anyway!
  2. Looking for some family fun this weekend? Hanover Harvest Festival is Saturday. Remember parades are always free and theirs starts at 11 a.m. For a full listing of events check out their website.
  3. Want to beat the heat in the water but don’t want to pay admission for the pool or a beach? BeeBee Lake Beach is always free. Restrooms are right on site as well as a nice playground in the shade.
  4. Get set for the Wright County Fair, down in Howard Lake. The fairgrounds is near the lake, and is chock full of what makes Wright County so great. There is a neat blend of our rural, agricultural roots, and a lot of modern amenities to boot. The week is full of entertainment, too, from demolition derbies to the coronation of "Fairest of the Fair," it's easy to enjoy this fair on a budget.
