Frugal Families: Five Good Deals Courtesy of Shop Saint Michael

The Shop Saint Michael group, a consortium of businesses around St. Michael, offers these deals close to home for families on the go.

It's Wednesday, and that means its "deal time." Per usual, we're giving residents a write-up on what's good in the St. Michael-Albertville area.

What makes this week's "Frugal Families" column unique, however, is that it's contributed by the Shop Saint Michael group.

Shop Saint Michael is a cooperative group of more than three dozen St. Michael businesses in a variety of different services, working together to promote shopping local.

So, without further ado, here are the group's five best bets for April.

1. JR's Pub and Pizza

Good Friday, check out the Friday night fish fry buffet. If you miss it? Relax, said it is  being held over beyond Easter, by popular request. Also, check out the brunch buffet Sunday mornings (including specials on bloody Mary's and mimosas) and the Tursday night bingo at 7 p.m.

2.

Drop the BB, because the Berthiaumes have become an official Verizon Wireless Store right at Larabee Avenue and Highway 241 in St. Michael. This month, check out how you can bring your home phone and number to Verizon and get service for less than $10 per month.

3. Dehmer Meats

A St. Michael original and a St. Michael legend, Dehmer's is going to make everyone forget about that unsightly snow (actually, it was kind of pretty) and focus their attention on grilling season.

Now through May 31, you can pick up any five packages of precooked brats and get one free. There is a limit of one free bag per day.

That means you can pick up beer brats, cheddar brats, jalapeno brats or smoky brats and pick up an extra bag after your fifth bag for no extra charge.

Toss a couple in your freezer and you might be stocked up until Memorial Day.

4. Edina Realty - Stacy Zachman

Stop in Edina Realty, just off Highway 241 west of Dairy Queen, and you can meet Stacy Zachman. Mention you saw her ad on St. Michael Patch and she will give you a free, no obligation market analysis on your home today.

It's a great, free service for anyone who is thinking of selling, needs ideas for what they should "spruce up," or just wants a general, ballpark estimation on their home.

5.

Easter, in case you haven't heard, is Sunday. That means there are still a couple of days to pop in and get eggs, candy, a ham for Sunday dinner, and a lily for the table.

Fortunately, there are deals on almost all of those items this week at Marketplace grocery store, which is in the Town Cetner development at Highway 241 and Larabee in St. Michael.
