Frugal Finds: Lots of Fun Around St. Michael-Albertville Over the Long Weekend

There is no shortage of fun around town this week and weekend.

Wondering how you're going to keep the kids busy this weekend? Here's our local list of local fun and frugal events to keep everyone happy!

1. The 7th Annual Otsego Pumpkin Patch: Free pumpkins, inflatables, candy, hot chocolate and more. Bring a non-perishable food donation for CAER food shelf and bring the kids in costume for this fun day. Saturday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Otsego Prairie Park.

2. Hanover Pumpkin Carving and Decorating Event: Free pumpkins for kids, pumpkin painting competition with prizes, carving competition for adults. Refreshments will be served along with a visit from Rowdy the Scarecrow. Saturday 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hanover Settlers Park.

3. Story Time: is starting a Tuesday morning storytime. Starts Tuesday, October 25 at 11 a.m. There is a limit of 10, so call now and reserve your space at 763-515-3148.

4. As you winterize your home and garage, are you getting ready to get rid of outgrown bikes? is collecting used bikes Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Bikes donated will be going to the Bikes 4 Kidz organization that will be tuning up the bikes before giving them away to kids in need this December. The first 50 people that donate bikes will receive a free t-shirt.

5. Eat some pizza. With no school Thursday and Friday, there's bound to be at least one family pizza night. has a Patch special for $16.95 you get a large taco pizza and a family order of cheese bread.
