Get Out: The Weekend is Overflowing with Family, Fun Events

This weekend features everything from arts and crafts to green beer and corn beef. Check out these highlights.

It’s not going to be a good weekend to hole up on the couch. The weather’s set to be beautiful, there are plenty of spring projects to tend to, and the calendar is chock full of local events.

Here’s a rundown of some of the highlights:

 The Women of Today Spring Craft Show

The annual show and business expo features vendors, creators and artists from around the St. Michael area and beyond. This event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West, it will feature over 125 vendors. It’s almost guaranteed you will find something you want.

 St. Michael-Albertville-Hanover Library Book Sale

People of all ages with all kinds of interests will find it worthwhile to visit the Friends of the Library Book Sale at the St. Michael Public Library on Saturday, March 17, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices are affordable and proceeds support the library.

 Fundraiser for St. Michael resident

Family, friends and coworkers will hold a fundraiser and get-together for St. Michael resident Tim Waterman.

The fundraiser, raffle and silent auction is set for 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 18 at at Mad Jack's Restaurant and Bar, 8078 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park.

Waterman, who lives on Langston Lane in St. Michael, underwent brain surgery in February, and was diagnosed with gioblastom astrocytoma, Stage IV.

 

NIGHTLIFE

Party with St. Patrick’s Day at Pubhouse 19

You picked it as your “Readers’ Choice to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.” To celebrate, Pubhouse is offering Irish food and rinks, with plenty of bar specials beginning at 8:30 p.m. At 9 p.m., check out the “Big City Band” live on stage. There is no cover.

Neighbors Features Corn Beef and Country

Roy Dawson and the Bootleggers are a local fave, and they’ll take the stage at 9:30 p.m. at Neighbors, which will also feature corn beef and cabbage and plenty of Green Beer on tap.

JRs Will be Rocking

Like their competitors, it’s live music and green beer at JR’s Pub and Pizza in downtown St. Michael. Stop in anytime after 9 for the music, and there will be specials all day long.
