Rogers Auto Repair Shop Moving to St. Michael

John's Auto Electric and Auto Repair, a Main Street Rogers business, is moving to St. Michael and opening up for business October 1.

For 33 years, has been a Main Street staple of the Rogers community. John Moe and Larry Rudolph started the electric and auto repair shop in 1979 and watched the Rogers and surrounding communities grow.

Bryan Lugert of Otsego used to work in the insurance business until his customer John Moe came in wanting to find a buyer for his business. "Originally my dad and I bought it together but my dad soon decided it wasn't for him," Bryan said earlier this week.

While the original owners are no longer involved in the day to day, Larry passed away and John is now living in North Dakota, history is very much an important part of the shop.

"We just needed more space and there was no room to go here," Bryan said. The shop is sandwiched between a city lot and a pizza shop. The new St. Michael location is on Quam Avenue near 101 and the moving process has already begun.

The shop specializes in rebuilding starters and alternators for cars and trucks and do it with just three on staff, Bryan, along with Rick Jordan and Jim Nelson. Rick has been there all 33 years.
