Wbits With a Cause: Local Entrepreneur Raising Money for Breast Cancer Treatment

Wibts, those colorful water bottle toppers, are back with a message of 'hope.' Just in time for those holiday parties.

Sean Hernandez is taking the wild success of Wbits and putting them toward a cause near and dear to him and his family.

In case you forgot, Wbits are those wonderful little "Water Bottle Identification Toppers" (WBIT) that Hernandez invented with the help of his daughter earlier this year.

Now that the toppers are seeing some success (with sales at Bed Bath and Beyond exceeding projections and other stores and distributors joining the fray, Sean reports), the Hernandez family has created line of Breast Cancer Awareness Wbits that will help raise funds for a regional charity.

Here's Sean's report:

"I am so thrilled that the Breast Cancer Awareness packages just arrived and are now up for sale at Wbitsworld.com. Below is what they will look like. This is our very first custom/premium printed Wbits package.

"This package is very near and dear to my heart. My sister died one year ago from breast cancer. She left behind three young children. My sister had a lot to do with the development of this breast cancer awareness edition. In fact, it was her idea to do breast cancer as the first premium/custom Wbits. She helped with Wbits descriptions you see on the website.

"Also the power words printed on the tops of the pink Wbits came from stepping stones Vicki had in her garden. I've also added a very special dedication to my sister on every one of these Breast Cancer Awareness packages.

"After researching over a dozen breast cancer charities, Wbits Breast Cancer Awareness edition is proud to be sponsored by Voices of Hope. These people do amazing work directly with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, helping to navigate them through the early stages of treatment. These women are true angels and I couldn't be more proud to have them as my first sponsor.

" I will be donating a portion from every package sold to help Voices of Hope continue their amazing work. Voices of Hope founder, Diane Davies, has become a great friend."

The breast cancer ID toppers can be found exclusively can be ordered from Wbitsworld.com. You can also follow Wbits on Facebook.
