Michaela Olson's Mom Asks for her Daughter's Necklace to be Returned

In a Saturday afternoon post on a memory Facebook page for Michaela, her mom requests her daughter's necklace be returned.

A necklace that had been placed on the memorial that has sat at the site where is missing. Saturday afternoon Robin Olson wrote on the In Loving Memory of Michaela Olson Facebook page that whoever took it please return it.

"It breaks my heart to have to write this, but someone took the necklace that was placed around the blue cross at the memorial by the trail where Michaela fell. It was a silver chain with two silver charms: one with a green turtle and one of a blue dolphin. It was placed there by one of her aunts and uncles and by two of her cousins. If you know who has this necklace, I would really appreciate it if they could bring it back. I had planned to put it in her scrapbook," Robin wrote.

A picture of the necklace is shown here, if you have the necklace or have seen someone with it, please return it to the memorial.

Put a note at the memorial site. If it was just some kids who dont know better, maybe they will see the note and return it. I am very sorry for the loss of your daughter. May God give you strength.

I am so happy to report that the necklace and both charms have been returned! It doesn't matter to me who took it or why, I'm just glad to have it back. Thanks, Michaela's mom

Why was it put there in the first place?

Her uncle and oldest female cousin put it on the cross that he made for her and asked us to keep it there. Out of respect for their wishes, we left it there. We just assumed (and we all know what that means) that everyone else would respect it as well. Now we know otherwise and have brought home items of personal value. Live and learn I guess. All that matters though is that we have it back-that's all that matters.
