It's hard to believe Christmas is just three days away but the lines at the St. Michael Post Office and Albertville's are no joking matter.
"I procrastinated a little bit," St. Michael resident Nicole Olsen said Wednesday as she juggled several packages needing to be sent at the post office.
The good news is it's not too late to get those packages where they need to go. The bad news is it might cost you.
Goin' Postal owner Brian Edlund has had a busy week. "Monday was a little crazy," he said. Monday was the cut off date for Fed Ex Ground which delivers up until Saturday. Fed Ex Express does not deliver Saturday but depending on location might still make it by Friday.
"The best thing people can do now is come in and ship through Spee-Dee Delivery, they deliver throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and the Dakotas. It's one to three days but most of the time it can be next day," he said Wednesday in between customers.
As for the USPS, Thursday is the deadline for Express mail which is guaranteed Saturday delivery.
Edlund suggests to save time, whether shipping at USPS or at Goin' Postal, to come in prepared. "While we do sell shipping supplies and are more than happy to help package items, if you're looking at saving time, come with your items boxed and ready to go."
