Where Are Wright County Residents Going?

A new U.S. Census Bureau map of migration patterns between counties shows Wright County is gaining residents from other Minnesota counties.

Wright County stole 14 residents from Connecticut's New London County between 2006 and 2010. Meanwhile, it lost 27 people to the Fairbanks North Star Borough in Alaska during the same time period.

A U.S. Census Bureau interactive map that went live Tuesday emphasizes just how far flung movements are between the 1.1 million-person county and the rest of the country. During the survey period, 1,379 people moved to Wright County from a different state while 2,050 people moved from here to a different state.

Movement wasn’t limited to the United States either. Wright County had 341 people move in from abroad.
