YEAR IN REVIEW: St. Michael Patch Top Story #2 Albertville Bank Robbery

Albertville's Premier Bank was robbed at gunpoint in early November setting off a chain of school lockdowns.

As we continue to wrap up 2011 and the top stories from St. Michael Patch, none us can forget the events of the November lockdown prompted by

Around 1 p.m. Wednesday November 9, Albertville's Premier Bank was robbed by gunpoint. The suspect left by foot which triggered a community lockdown of all the schools and even the bus barn.

According to a witness report, the suspect is a white male, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall, and was wearing a ski mask at the time of the holdup.

Wright County law enforcement, as well as the FBI searched for the gunman throughout the community and after almost two hours and a complete search of the busses, lifted the lockdown and released students from school.

The community was shaken, parents were alarmed but students were unscathed and the youngest of students were oblivious to the day's events. by many parents for acting so quickly, while others complained of delayed communication and bussing.

Since the Albertville robbery, there have been several other bank robberies with a very similar suspect.

CORRECTION: The FBI has confirmed that they believe it is the same man and has named him the "Man in Black".
