Perhaps a funeral is an unusual event to include as an event here on Patch, but I wanted to share this information so as many people as possible are able to pay their respects to this amazing woman and to give condolences to her singular husband and amazing children.
Her funeral will be held at the St. Michael Catholic church at 11 a.m. on Monday. There will be a visitation before Mass, beginning at 9:30.
I was blessed to grow up across the street from Earl and Theresa Zachman. She is the reason I correct people who use the term "farmer's wife." There are farmers and farming families, but there is no such thing as a farmer's wife. The farming couple run a farm; Theresa showed me that.
Theresa was an energetic, kind, and compassionate woman who always had time for the our community, including the neighbor girl who had research to do but couldn't get to the library. (Or maybe she knew Theresa would be a better source).
It is not cliche to call Theresa a pillar of the community. Everyone knew her and everyone loved her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Alzheimer's Association or The St. Michael Catholic Church Bell Tower Fund preferred.
She is missed.
