The Christian community will celebrate Christmas this week, with thousands attending church services in the St. Michael and Albertville area.
Services around the area are set for this holiday. Here are times and places around town.
St. Michael Catholic Church
Christmas Eve masses are set for 4 p.m. (Children's Mass), 6:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. (Midnight Mass). Attendees of the 4 p.m. service are asked to arrive early and make room for a large crowd. More than 1,500 people regularly attend this event, which is a tradition.
Christmas Day services are at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m.
The Feast of the Holy Family, which is Friday, Dec. 30, is set for 7:45 a.m. at the Historic Church (with St. Michael Catholic School students).
St. Albert Catholic Church
One of the few churches to hold a traditional Midnight Mass, has two services on Christmas Eve, with the 5 p.m. celebration and again at midnight. There will be one service on Christmas Day, which is at 10 a.m.
St. Albert will also host a Live Nativity on the south side of the St. Albert Parish Center (along 57th Street) on both Tuesday and Wednesday. The performance should begin around 6:30 p.m.
Alleluia Lutheran Church
The contemporary will hold two services on Christmas Eve, with services set for both 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Both are at the Historic Church.
Christmas Day, services are set for 10 a.m. All celebrations are held at the Historic St. Michael Church on Central Avenue in downtown St. Michael.
Life in Christ Lutheran Church
Candlelight services at the , which is located at the intersection of Main Avenue and 50th Street Northeast in Albertville, are set for 7 and 9 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
Christmas Day services are set as normal church service times Sunday, Dec. 25 at 8 and 10:30 a.m.
Westbridge Community Church
This ecumenical church is holding to services on Christmas Eve. Westrbridge will meet at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve Day. Westbridge now meets at St. Michael Middle School West.
Connect Church – St. Michael
Services are set for Christmas Eve at 3:30 and 5 p.m. There is also a “regular,” weekly service that day at 10 a.m., replacing Sunday services. The church is not open Christmas Day.
