Community Tree Lighting Ceremony is Set for Next Week in St. Michael

Photos with Santa, a tree lighting and gift donation are all part of the Tuesday, Dec. 3 event.

The STMA Rotary Club and Shop Saint Michael are pleased to announce St. Michael’s 2nd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive NE, St. Michael.

This festive event will include performances by STMA High School’s Chamber Choir and Gold Jazz Band, free photos with Santa courtesy of Open Sky Photography, holiday stories read by Friends of the Library and local Rotarians, and a special holiday craft sale featuring the handiworks of Crow River Senior Center members.  Free sandwiches, chips cookies, bars, and punch and coffee will be served while supplies last. The free event will include a toy and children’s book drive for the Hanover Area Food Shelf.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy or children’s book.

The tree will be lit by St. Michael’s very own “Holiday Cheermeister” who will be nominated by the community and selected by Shop Saint Michael and STMA Rotary.  This year’s Cheermeister will be announced soon.
