St. Michael Likes Ike, Karol Eichelberg to Be 2013 Holiday Cheermeisters

The happy couple, known to so many in St. Michael, will kick off holiday festivities in two weeks with the annual tree lighting.

The STMA Rotary Club and Shop Saint Michael are pleased to announce that Ike and Karol Eichelberg have been named St. Michael’s Cheermeisters for 2013.   Ike and Karol will have the honor of lighting St. Michael’s Holiday Tree during the 2nd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3 at St. Michael City Center, 11800 Town Center Drive NE.

Ike and Karol Eichelberg were nominated by Lorrie Zander for their commitment to the community and for exemplifying Rotary’s values of service above self. "You would be hard pressed to find a school, sports, church or community event that these two are not present at in our community," Zander wrote of the couple, former teachers at STMA.

The Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration will include performances by STMA High School’s Chamber Choir and Gold Jazz Band, free photos with Santa courtesy of Open Sky Photography, holiday stories read by Friends of the Library and Rotarians, and a special holiday craft sale featuring the handiworks of Crow River Senior Center members.  Free sandwiches, chips cookies, bars, and punch and coffee will be served while supplies last. The free event includes a toy and children’s book drive for the Hanover Area Food Shelf.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy or children’s book. There will also be a box for diaper donations size 4, 5 and 6 for the Crisis Nursery.
