Albertville Princesses go to the Great Minnesota Get Together!!

On Labor Day, I had the opportunity to attend the Great Minnesota Get Together with my mom, Princess Brittany Klysen and her mom and aunt. We got there bright and early to get some fair time in before the parade. Right away we turned heads, but who wouldn't look at the beautifu crowns?! Within minutes we heard whispers and saw many smiling faces. Throughout the day we had taken our pictures with dozens of people (mostly children). We couldn't get a few steps without being stopped to talk or take a picture. I didn't mind one bit. I loved every second of it. If I could go back in time, I would do that day all over again. This is why I love being an Albertville Princess. I love representing my city at places, and meeting new people. I did have time to eat, and boy did I take advantage of that time. Yes, royalty can eat, and lots!! My favorite thing was either my giant pickle on a stick or the deep fried candy bar. Very delicious!! The parade was really fun. Luckily, one person didn't show up so Brittany took their spot. It was really great to wave, smile, and interact with others from around the state.
Princess Katie

Wow, what a difference from Saturday to Monday.  I am normally so hot blooded but I can honestly say that morning it was windy and cold.  With the weather being so cold we spent more time eating and walking to try and stay warm.  I eat so much that day by 3:00 pm I couldn’t even think about food anymore.  Princess Katie, Lisa T, Lisa K, and I were walking when we ran across Long Haul Trucking and we stopped to say Hi.  They could see I was freezing and offered me a long sleeve shirt to wear.  I want to say thank you so much that shirt was definitely a life saver.  It was an amazing day and it was so much fun meeting so many people.  We were stopped so many times by people of all ages.  Kids wanted a picture; adults either would congratulate us or stopped to chat.  Princess Katie and I were even stopped on the way out by a group of people and one of them lives in Albertville.  I wanted to stay at the state fair until it closed that night but I had to get back for college in the morning.   That was honestly so much fun and what an honor to wear a crown and sash.  I love Minnesota and thanks so much to my community of Albertville.
