Candidate #4 - Katie, shares her take on the Albertville Royalty 12-Hour Rock-A-Thon

Hear about Saturday's Rock-a-Thon

This past Saturday was the Albertville Royalty Promgram's annual Rock-A-Thon. What is a Rock-A-Thon? It is when the Albertville Royalty candidates, committee members, and recent court all come together and sit outside with rocking chair outside of Corborns in Albertville. It is a 12 hour fundraiser for the program. No, we do not sit in rocking chairs for 12 hours!! Throughout the 12 hours we are together there is a lot going on. Sadly, I was only there 8 out of the 12 due to a class. When I got there the others told me that there was a radio station there that held contests and played music, how cool?! By the time I got there, they were just finishing up some delicious ice cream from Culvurs. The rest of the time we rocked in our chairs, played with sidewalk chalk, talked, and bonded. We had a lot of visiters. From strangers, to sponsors, and even past Albertville Royalty!!
My favorite part of the Rock-A-Thon was getting to now the other candidates more, and to hang out with Princess Sarah Hakel and Miss Albert
ville herself, Amanda Koep! I cannot emphasize enough how much fun it was to hang with everyone. It was not only a good way to practice communication skills and get to know one another, but hearing the stories and excitment of royalty was beyond cool. Hearing Sarah and Amanda talk about their year together put a smile on all of out faces and positive thoughts in out minds. I am happy to be a part of this program with all these beautiful, wonderful people!!!
A HUGE thank you to those who stopped by and to those you donated. We really appreciate it and we loved seeing you all!!
