Miss Albertville Candidate Luncheon and Personal Interviews with the Judges

Miss Albertville Candidate Luncheon and Personal Interviews with the Judges

The Miss Albertville Candidates, Committee and Judges gathered this past Saturday for a luncheon.  They enjoyed (at least I hope they enjoyed) Chicken Fettuccine, Salad, garlic bread stick, green beans and an adorable Princess cupcake cake!  Several girls were seated at 3 tables along with 1 committee member and 1 judge.  The committee member and judge would rotate (opposite) after each course.  This allowed each candidate time with each judge and committee member. There are 4 committee members, but I was in the kitchen, cooking - with the help of 3 young ladies doing the serving!  The lunch is way for the candidates to get to know the judges a bit before going in to their Personal Interviews - makes the Judges seem, "less scary" and puts the ladies a little more at ease - knowing that they are "regular people" too.  The interviews last about 15 minutes - most of the girls were not nervous at all but certainly looked relieved after they came out of the interview room.  During the "waiting" the girls made their signs for the Zimmermann Parade that they will be walking in on May 25th and their signs for their convertibles, for the Friendly City Days Parade.  One of the candidates, Atalie Duncan, made the comment in an email: "I absolutely LOVED the lunch & personal interviews today! The judges were so fun! They handled themselves in such a professional manner, and it was wonderful being able to spend time with them!"  Others also commented during the event on how much better they felt meeting the judges ahead of time.We are happy to have such a great group of girls - the judges have their work cut out!  Stay tuned for MORE event blogs!  Next up...ROCK-A-THON!  Come and see the candidates at Coborn's THIS Saturday the 18th from Noon to Midnight!!Kelly D.
