St. Michael Veteran Marvin 'Buddy' Kilian Dies After Long Illness

Marvin "Buddy" L. Kilian of St. Michael died Friday at the Veteran’s Home in South Minneapolis after a long illness. He was 78.

Born and raised in St. Michael, Kilian enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany. Kilian was a former member of the St. Michael Lions Club and the St. Michael American Legion. He was also a member of The Church of St. Michael.

Kilian was a longtime member of Maple Grove's International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 292. He started his own business owning and operating M.L. Bud Kilian Electric for over 30 years.

Kilian enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, snowmobiling, downhill skiing, and playing with his grandchildren. He was also a history buff and enjoyed classical music.
