Albertville Crash Sends Two Drivers to the Hospital

A woman making a U-turn after dropping off her child at a bus stop was broadsided by another vehicle on County Road 19 north of Albertville Thursday, part of a busy police botter.

Wright County Deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident Wednesday, March 30, north of Albertville on Wright County Road 19 near 75th Avenue Northeast. 

The accident, which was called in at about 7 a.m. according to the sheriff's department, occurred after a woman driving a 2008 Saturn view dropped off her child at a bus stop nearby. She was pulling a U-turn when "she simply didn't lookto see if there was oncoming traffic," the deputy on scene said in his report. 

St. Michael and Albertville fire departments responded to the crash. Extrication tools were used to remove the driver of the Saturn from her vehicle. Crews also provided traffic control and assisted in the loading of patients into amublances, and also cleaned fluids from the cars off the road.

Both the woman in the Saturn and a driver of a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer were transported to New River Medical Center (Monticello) via ambluance, where they were treated for injuries. The identities of the two women and their health status weren't released at this time.

St. Michael Fire responded to a medical call in the 400 block of Hillcrest Avenue. There was a female party with low blood sugar. 

March 24

A  Dale Lowell Edgren, 54, Albertville was arrested on an apprehension and detention order in Albertville by order of Wright County. 

St. Michael Fire responded to a medical call i the 12000 block of 43rd Street. A 28-year-old female was ill. 

The St. Michael department also resonded to a medical call in the 500 block of Maple Knoll Way. A 50-year-old man had fallen and was unconscious outside. 

March 25

Nathan David Schmitz, 24, St. Michael, was arrested in Albertville and charged with third-degree DWI.

Chad Victor William Lilledahl, 33, Albertville, was arrested in Albertville on an apprehension and detention order from Wright County. 

March 27

Shawn Christopher Dotseth, 40, St. Michael, was arrested in St. Michael on a Lac Qui Parle County warrant for DWI. 

Dustin Loren Mahler, 27, St. Michael, was arrested in St. Michael on charge of second degree DWI. 

The St. Michael Fire Department responded to a fire and medical alarm in the 10000 block of 44th Court. It was a false alarm. Another false alarm came from the 11000 block of Frankfort Parkway. 

March 28

The St. Michael Fire Department responded to a second false alarm in the 11000 block of Frankfor Parkway, but was canceled while en route. 

March 29

A fire alarm sounding prompted a call in the 4000 block of Medley Lane. St Michael Fire responded but no one was inside and no fire was found. 

Albertville fire responded to a carbon monoxide detector alarm in the 10000 block of 49th Street around 10:22 p.m. Nothing was found. 

March 30

St. Michael and Albertville fire teamed up to assist Wright County deupties on the scene of the accident Wednesday morning.
