Buffalo Township Man Facing Charges after Allegedly Shooting at Wife

A 74-year-old Buffalo Township man is in custody after an alleged attempted shooting about two miles east of St. Michael Sunday night.

Wright County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the scene of a shooting Sunday night after a domestic dispute between two seniors escalated. 

According to information from the sheriff's office, deputies were dispatched at about 7:30 p.m. after the Wright County Sheriff's Office received a call from a 74-year -old female stating that her husband had just shot at her with a handgun in their residence, located in the 3300 block of Edmonson Avenue Northeast in Buffalo Township. That's about two miles west of St. Michael, south of Pelican Lake. 

The female was not injured.

Sheriff's deputies, with the assistance of the Minnesota State Patrol, set up a perimeter around that location and were subsequently able to get the suspect, Roger Lloyd Freeberg, 74, to surrender. 

Freeberg was booked into the Wright County jail on charges of Second Degree Attempted Murder, Second Degree Assault and Terroristic Threats.
