Defense Witnesses: Delbert Huber Had Tim Huber Cowed

Tim Huber's public defenders rested their case Thursday in his murder trial in the 2011 shooting death of Tim Larson of Albertville. Court resumes Monday with closing arguments.

Witnesses told a jury in Kandiyohi County District Court Thursday that Tim Huber was under the thumb of his father, Delbert—including physical abuse.

Delbert Huber is serving 30 years for killing Tim Larson of Albertivlle in 2011. His son, Tim Huber, is now on trial for his alleged role in Larson's shooting death.

Friends and neighbors of Timothy Huber testified this morning they witnessed Delbert Huber verbally and physically abuse his son and that the son was clearly subservient and obedient to his father. ... Edward Rossman, also a neighbor to the Hubers, earlier testified that Timothy Huber helped him hang siding after the murder, but before it was reported to law enforcement.

Rossman, this time as a defense witness, testified that Delbert Huber told him about hitting Timothy Huber in the head with a baseball bat. When Rossman later questioned Timothy Huber about it, Rossman said the son called it a “misunderstanding” and that Timothy Huber’s eyes were “cross-eyed” for a couple of weeks after that.
