Updated: DEVELOPING STORY: Tanker Truck Accident on County Road 19 in Hanover

A tanker truck has turned on it's side blocking traffic at County Road 19.

UPDATE: 5:37 p.m. – While an official report of the accident is not available yet, Wright County Sheriff's Department Sgt. Wather was able to share a few of the facts surrounding the accident.

"The truck was turning onto County Road 19 from River Road. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and not more than a couple five-gallon buckets worth of material was spilled," he said.

He reported that the truck was from J & C Trucking, who has recently been working in the area. The material inside was believed to be an additive to cement.

A tanker truck carrying cement powder tipped over on the corner of County Road 19 and River Road just outside of the St. Michael city limits. He tipped over as he turned the corner. Witnesses   said the driver took the corner slowly but still tipped. Ehlers operates a nearby photography studio.

The driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but it appeared that he only had a small cut.

While traffic is no longer stopped, expect delays as clean up and removing the tanker is expected to takemost of the afternoon. If possible, plan an alternate route.
